I honestly don't know what everyone is complaining about. This little handheld is fantastic. The games don't crash because they can move around. I have rarely if ever experienced any crashes. In fact I just played Megaman 2 all the way through the other night. Furthermore, the battery life is fantastic. The system itself takes four double A batteries which last at least 8-10 hours, comparable to the battery life of the original game boy, which is fantastic considering the screen is backlit. The controls are spot on, and even better than the original NES and better than emulation on the Nintendo Wii. Considering you can easily hook up and play this game on any TV and play using wireless controllers, for this system is a great bargain.

For anybody that is thinking of getting this i think it is a great idea. I enjoyed the super nintendo and the NES when i was younger and when i saw this i jumped. It has two controllers and it hooks up via rca jacks like you dvd player does. It has i shiny red finish, and has a toggle switch the middle for off and up for NES and down for SNES games. Some improvements for it though would be a eject button like the original super because the game are hard to get out of it, but other than that i think its a great buy.

I am a big fan of classic video games so I download tons of games off of the Wii's Virtual Console.

However, the Wii Remote is not very precise for these kinds of games. And the Wii Classic Controller is awkward because you still have to plug it in the Wii Remote and have it rest on your lap.

Also, the problem with a wireless controller is that with games with intense action there can be a hesitation between communication with the controller and the system. I distinctly remember times when I was rapidly hitting the fire button on Kirby's Adventure and Magician Lord and my character "froze" and I lost a life. That can be frustrating.

Luckily, I discovered this adapter. It allows gamers to use a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) controller and plugs into the Game Cube (GC) controller port. There is also one you can purchase that will work with the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) controller.
For playing Nintendo 64 (N64) games, I recommend sticking with a GC controller, but for all other retro systems on the Virtual Console get this adapter to play with a SNES controller.

Note: Some Genesis games don't allow the layout of the fire buttons to be changed on the menu screen. So depending on the game, you may have to choose if the Wii Remote is more to your liking.

Ideally, I hope you use a quality SNES controller like the ones that Nintendo and Capcom made. The orginal controller packed with the system is a timeless masterpiece; it's very responsive and comfortable in the hands and blows away all other controller options on the Wii. I have noticed myself getting higher scores and advancing further in my games since I got this. So dig out the SNES controller from your closet, buy the adapter, and start having authentic retro fun once again ... It doesn't get much better than this!
